If your goal is to lose weight and you want to change just ONE thing today. Here’s what it is.
Stop drinking soda. Stop drinking ALL Soda, whether it’s diet or regular. Just … plain… stop. Substitute other drinks.
If you don’t drink soda, then stop drinking calories. You get one big exception, and that’s non-fat, preferably organic, hormone free milk. The lactose IS a sugar, but it’s metabolized much more slowly than high fructose corn syrup and sugar.
Liquid calories cause blood sugar spikes that lead to insulin surges to metabolize the sugar. Then you’re your blood sugar drops off and get tired as your body starts converting all that excess sugar to fat.
Drink water and EAT your calories. They’re much more enjoyable that way.
I won’t even get into artificial sweeteners right now, but suffice it to say… those are just as bad and probably worse than regular soda for different reasons.
Say no to soda. Say yes to water.
Fruit juice? Same deal… Eat the fruit, get the fiber… only drink fruit juice sparingly. Most commercial brands have sugar or high fructose corn syrup in them anyway.
